This WONDERfilled Life...

When Super and I got married 18 years ago I planned every detail of our wedding...from several thousand miles away from where it would take place and on a very tight budget.  I had many people make fun of how organized and detailed I was but I was super happy that I took the time to draw out the exact layout of the tables, centerpieces and balloon arrangements for two different possible scenarios depending on the weather.  When all was said and done I had people mention to me that I should look into event planning as a career.  I considered it again this week as I fell deeper and deeper into planning our upcoming b-day parties.  I love planning all the details, the finishes...it excites me...I'm weird, I know.  So we decided this week to make P's party a Land of the Dead theme from the Disney movie, Coco.  The plan is to change out all the bulbs downstairs to black-light responsive bulbs and play games and dance and be crazy while glowing! I had a light work week this week and so I set a pretty high goal of finishing the kids' Halloween/Coco Party/ Dia de los Muertos party costumes. I would have loved to have wrapped up my costume as well but I just ran out of time. Our big party day is four weeks away and I'm starting to freak out a teensy bit! But getting their costumes finished does feel good and I'm not sure I've had a Halloween as a parent yet where we had our costumes finished a whole month before we needed them. Back in Week 35  I made P her Mama Imelda dress and it turned out great.  I'm  not a fan of face paint (the mess!) and since we are wearing our costumes for several various events the last week of October a mask made the most sense.  Plus P and Bubba can wear them for dress up later on (I'm a big fan of multi purpose projects)!
