The Devil is in the Details, AKA Bubba turns two! | This WONDERfilled Life

WOW, I feel like it’s been like a month since I’ve sat down and written anything.   I have currently at least four posts (including this one) written in my head but just haven’t found the time to get them onto the computer! But today is day 95 of heavy rain and after a really fun performance last night (another blog coming) I decided to not take the kiddos to their class this morning and we are enjoying watching the chaos from our dry, warm living room, snuggled on the couch and still in our jammies.   Last weekend was Bubba’s SECOND birthday! He’s two! Oh my heart.   He’s really developing quite the personality.   His vocabulary is expanding every day and watching him play with his toys instead of chewing on them is really fun to see.   Despite the large party we had for P last fall we actually DON’T have yearly birthday parties for our kids – those events are saved for big b-days like 5, 10 and 16 -   if you missed our Coco – Land of the Dea...

Every boy needs a bow-tie! | Week 51 | #52wonderfilledweeks

So my grand plan was to finish both kid's Christmas outfits for LAST week's challenge post but with the busy gigging season it just didn't happen.  I shared P's dress and hair bow for Week 50 and on Monday I whipped up Bubba's outfit.  His took a little longer because I had not made this pattern before.  Originally I was going to make him a vest, but then I saw all these cute little boys in "sweater vests" and knew he had to have one.  Thankfully the Dashing Vest from Love Notions was not only a FREE download it also had a "pullover" hack on their blog.  Overall it went together okay but I am still need more work on my "V" neck construction.  I did the "cheater" "V" neck (it overlaps) and I like how it looks but I really want to get my "V" to be more crisp on the shirt.  After trying a few times I left his as it was but I did look up some tips on the interwebs and am looking forward to trying i...

ONE! We made it, the Bubba is one years old as of yesterday! I am so sad my little big man (he entered the world at over 10 lbs) is getting so big so quick.  He walked for the first time yesterday! He can mimic sounds, laughs, climbs on anything and everything.  His personality is really starting to show and I just love watching him and his big sister.  She loves him so and has truly been a big helper both during my pregnancy and this first year. Always quick to help, grab a diaper, pick up the tossed water or toy.  She's been such a blessing.  I digress.... For my and my sister's first birthday my Mom made us this cute 3-D bear cake.  When P turned one she suggested we do the same for her, so we did and we iced it in "Care Bear" fashion.  For Bubba we vacillated on whether or not we'd have time to make it.  My Mom is in Alaska and was only able to fly out the day before Bubba's bday so we had little time to make the cake.  I decided we...
